Milo means merciful. And this Milo, a 12-year-old Schnauzer mix, needed all the mercy he could muster. On June 10th Milo was surrendered by his owners to the Harnett County Animal Shelter in North Carolina. Despite being nearly blind, mostly deaf, very thin, arthritic and having a mouthful of rotten teeth, Milo was as sweet as could be. Unfortunately, Milo was a very at-risk dog in a high-kill shelter that euthanize dogs every Wednesday. Milo had one week to make it out alive.
