Louie's life was on the line, and not just once, but twice. This 18-month-old Australian Cattle Dog-Pit Bull mix was one of 11 dogs found chained outside and starving in Rowan County, North Carolina. Animal control responded immediately after an anonymous caller alerted them on June 12th. That same day, all 11 dogs were seized and taken to the Rowan County Animal Shelter. The animal control officers indicated that the dogs were near death, and had been without food or water for some time. A local vet volunteered her services to exam the dogs and provide essential vet treatment. She determined that all the dogs should fully recover with proper care.
