It was bad enough that Little Lexi lost her home, but she also lost an eye. Three-year-old Lexi, a Miniature Pinscher mix, was surrendered by her owner to the Duplin County Animal Shelter in North Carolina on December 12th. Lexi had a ruptured eye. The vet's evaluation was that she was either shot or bitten in the eye, resulting in a corneal abrasion. The eye would need to be removed. Lexi needed a rescue commitment and the eye surgery ASAP.
