Unlike the dispute between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr, there was no duel to settle the dispute between this Hamilton and a hare, but the resolution was nearly as devastating. Hamilton, a three-year-old American English Coonhound mix, was a stray who showed up at a family's house. While the family would have kept Hamilton since he was such a sweet dog, he and the family's pet rabbit did not see eye to eye. So Hamilton was brought to the Duplin County Animal Shelter in North Carolina on July 6th. Hamilton was emaciated, had infected ears and showed other signs of neglect from his time as a stray.
