As sweet as Honey is, her story is a bit more bittersweet. Honey, a two-year-old Redbone Coonhound-Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, was surrendered by her family to the Bertie County Humane Society shelter in North Carolina on April 5th. Her owners told the shelter that Honey's right eye was blue. As it turns out, she did not have a blue eye, but an injured eye. This not only limited her vision, but also her chances of getting rescued. Without a rescue commitment by April 25th, Honey would be euthanized.
