Charlie Chaplin was once quoted as saying this: “Nothing is permanent in this wicked world – not even our troubles.” Thankfully for this five-year-old Lab-Bully Breed mix named Charlie, there’s some truth to that! He was brought in as a stray to the Mary Ann Morris Animal Society (MAMAS) shelter in rural Bamberg County in South Carolina on December 27th. The big scar on his back, most likely a burn or scrape from trying to get under a fence, seemed like evidence that Charlie was just trying to be free of his troubles. Now that he’d made it to the shelter, he just wanted to find a place to call home. Sadly, being a Bully Breed and testing heartworm positive meant that the odds were against him.
