​Gypsy didn’t tell fortunes for anyone at the Duplin County Animal Shelter in North Carolina, where she showed up on January 21st. Gypsy had her own misfortune to tell. The pretty young nomad, a two-year-old Beagle-Shar Pei mix, had bilateral entropion. With this condition the eyelashes brush inward instead of outward, causing pain and damage to the cornea. Gypsy was wanted by Hope For Life Rescue in Virginia, but the little nonprofit needed help to afford the small fortune her medical treatment would cost.
