A stray dog with an up-to-date microchip should not end up as an at-risk dog in death row. When Roxy arrived as a stray at the Bartow County Animal Control shelter in northern Georgia on September 17th, she was scanned for a microchip, and had one. Her owners were contacted, but never came to claim her. So this elegant two-year-old Lab-Boxer mix, who was aptly nicknamed "Miss Hugs-a-Lot", faced being euthanized if not taken by a rescue by 4 p.m. on September 24th.
