​"Willow was so sad that it was all I could do to not break down and cry looking at this poor old girl," a shelter worker said. The person who turned in Willow to the Duplin County Animal Shelter in North Carolina on March 17th claimed that Willow was a stray, but it seemed more like an owner surrender to some of the shelter staff. The mostly deaf and partially blind ten-year-old Willow was very scared in the shelter's stressful environment. The staff had little hope of getting her a rescue, and Willow was breaking their hearts.
