It’s been a hairy ride for Bentley. Like his namesake automobile company that has occasionally fallen on hard times, Bentley the dog found himself with four paws-on-the-floor and no gas. Bentley, a two-year-old Labrador Retriever mix, came to the Aiken County Animal Shelter on December 12th as a stray. After “kicking the tires,” the only problem found was cosmetic: Bentley’s ears were dinged-up from fly bites, making him look like a junkyard wreck instead of the luxury high-performance vehicle for which he is named. But then, Bentley didn’t pass inspection: he was heartworm positive. That meant Bentley had to stay off the adoption showroom floor. Now the Grey Poupon hit the fan!
