How did Ansel get his name? Our best guess is that since he's a black-and-white dog, he's named after Ansel Adams, the famed photographer known for his black-and-white images. This approximately two-year-old Border Collie-Husky mix arrived as a stray at the Rowan County Animal Shelter in Kentucky on August 1st. Despite his unique looks and great disposition, Ansel had no rescue or adoption interest.
