Doran means "wanderer" in Gaelic. And wander is just what Doran did, but no wonder since he was tied outside unaltered on a rope in an unfenced yard. When he broke that rope once too often, his owner had enough and surrendered Doran to the Surry County Animal Control shelter in North Carolina on July 6th. Doran, approximately one year old and a Husky mix, tested heartworm positive. With the shelter overflowing, being heartworm positive and an owner surrender put his life at risk.
