Without a body cam, we don't know if Sam was in a jam, on the lam or told to scram. Sam, a three to five-year-old Bassett Hound-Labrador Retriever mix (a Bassador?), was picked up as a stray and taken to the small rural Duplin County Animal Shelter in North Carolina on July 25th. He was covered with fleas and ticks, had a double ear infection, an ulcerated scrotum, and tested positive for heartworms, Lyme disease, and Ehrlichia. Needless to say, Sam was at serious risk of being put to sleep.
